National Board of Accreditation – NBA

National Board of Accreditation (NBA)

The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in India is a pivotal autonomous body established to ensure quality and excellence in technical education. Founded in 1994 under the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), it gained autonomy in 2010 and now operates under the Ministry of Education. The NBA’s primary role is to evaluate and accredit programs in engineering, technology, management, pharmacy, architecture, and related fields offered by institutions across the country. Unlike institutional accreditation, NBA focuses on individual programs, assessing them against rigorous parameters like curriculum, faculty qualifications, infrastructure, and student outcomes.
