The Department of B.Tech.Agricultural Engineering was established in RVS Technical Campus - Coimbatore in the year 2014, becoming the first institute in Tamil Nadu to offer four year degree programme in B.Tech. Agricultural Engineering under Anna University. The Department has the state-of- the-art facilities for various laboratories and well-equipped class rooms and library facilities for hands on training to the students to keep the updated with the latest trends in Agricultural Engineering to meet the challenges in agricultural production globally.

He had published more than 11 books in the field of Bio-energy, Environment Engineering and Agricultural Microbiology. Apart from research articles he has published more than 30 popular articles in magazines, Newspapers etc.

Dr. Rajkumar has organized over 100 training programmes on Biogas Technology, sponsored by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, highlighting his significant societal impact and industry relevance. He has been serving as a Syllabus Sub-Committee Member of Anna University, Chennai, since 2016, contributing to curriculum design and revision for the B.E. Agricultural Engineering programme.
Since 2019, he has been functioning as Chairman (Agriculture & Food Boards) for Central Valuation, appointed by the Controller of Examinations, Anna University, reflecting his expertise in academic assessment and evaluation systems. Further, he has been appointed as a Member of the Board of Studies (BoS) for B.E. Civil Engineering and B.Tech. Agricultural Engineering programmes offered in Affiliated (Non-Autonomous) Institutions under Anna University, for a period of three years from 20.06.2025.
