Our Research
RVS Technical Campus-Coimbatore Research and Development Centre (R&D Centre) was established in the year 2016. It is located in our college campus with an aim to take care of research culture by promoting and encouraging the faculty and the students to do research activities in newly emerging and challenging areas of Engineering, Technology, Science and Humanities. This enhances the general research capability of budding technocrats by way of organizing / participating in conferences, seminars, workshops, project competition, etc. R&D Centre will help in developing the new creative, cost effective and innovative ideas among students and staff members and also convert them ideas into product with the aid of various government funding agencies.
The R&D Centre obtains current circulars, regularizes and carries out follow-up action for applying funded projects from various funding agencies and motivates the members of faculty and UG/PG students to apply for different proposals for requesting grant to conduct research and development activities. It supports faculty members and students to prepare and publish technical papers in National and International Conferences / Journals. The methodology for preparing, scrutinize, updating and formatting is assisted by R&D Centre. The institution has 13 Ph.D., holders with a vibrant research potential in various research domains and 15 faculty members are currently pursuing Ph.D. in various disciplines.
Periodically this R & D centre conducting students level Project Expos to showcase their innovative ideas. Best projects is send to various funding agencies like Tamil Nadu State Council for Science & Technology (TANSCST), AICTE, DRDO, DSIR, ISRO, DST, etc. Our faculty and students successfully got many funds from TANSCST, AICTE and DST, etc.
Currently we are focusing on the social related problems like Energy Production System and saving methodologies, low cost solar street lights, low cost water purification system, Green composite materials, Seamless communication and signal distribution systems and Big data analysis tools, etc.,
The Centre comprises Advisory board member and coordinators as head and senior faculty member from each department is nominated as R&D coordinator to deal with activities of their respective department and follow-up action.
- The Research and Development Centre is established with an objective of promoting research by the faculty and students in newly emerging and challenging areas of Engineering, Technology, Science and Humanities.
- To obtain current circulars, regularize and do follow-up for applying funded projects from various funding agencies.
- T o create interest, awareness and grab opportunities in research and development among the under graduate and post graduate students and to create research and development atmosphere in every department.
- To encourage the faculty to do research.
- To enhance the faculty and students to prepare technical papers for publish in national and international conferences / journals.
- To assist methodology of preparing, scrutinizing, updating and formatting of research papers and thesis.
- To guide the students to do grant-in-aid research under student project scheme.
- To guide faculty members for applying and getting funds for conducting seminar / workshop / FDP from various funding agencies.
- To invite eminent experts from reputed institutions for R&D related interactions and co-operate to conduct national and international conferences on inter-disciplinary areas on upcoming technologies with the support of respective departments.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering obtained recognition for research center from Anna University, Chennai dated 8-10-2016.
